Samsung Galaxy S25 Ultra And Apple MacBook Air Win Latest Major Tech Awards

Tomorrow’s Technology Today: that’s what T3 originally stood for when it became the first and most innovative lifestyle technology magazine, launching in the U.K. in October 1996. It’s arguably still the most essential dedicated tech publication around and it just announced its latest wide-ranging awards.

There are 82 awards in total, and you can read the list in full here, but these are the ones that stood out for me.

Samsung won a bunch of gongs, including the most important: it’s brand of the year because as Editor-in-chief Mat Gallagher said, “When a brand becomes synonymous with quality across a wealth of different product types, it’s a real feat.” The company also snagged Best Phone for the Galaxy S25 Ultra, Best Monitor for the Odyssey OLED G8, Best Gaming TV for the Samsung S95F, which also won Best TV.

The Active Awards are a particularly eclectic collection, ranging from the best trail running shoes (Hoka Tecton X 3) and the best electric bike (Brompton G Line) to the best smart ring, which is the Oura Ring 4 and best smartwatch, the OnePlus Watch 3.

As well as the best fitness headphones, which are the Beats Powerbeats Pro 2 in the Active Awards, the Tech Awards had no fewer than four headphone winners. Best Travel Headphones are the Sony WH-1000XM6, Best Headphones are the latest Bowers & Wilkins cans, the Px& S3, Best Earbuds, Technics EAH-AZ100 and the Best Wired Headphones, arguably a more niche proposition these days, which was won by the Meze Audio Liric (2nd Generation).

Apple’s triumphs came in the Best Laptop category, for the MacBook Air and Best Video Streaming Service for Apple TV+. The Home Awards had plenty of head-turning winners, from the Simba Earth Apex for Best Mattress to Amazon Echo Show 21 as Best Smart Speaker. Amazon also won for the Best Mid-Range TV with its Amazon Fire TV Omni mini-LED.

Shark did especially well, picking up Shark PowerDetect for Best Vacuum Cleaner and Shark CryoGlow as Best LED Face Mask. Meanwhile, the Mous Day Backpack won for Best Travel Goods/ Luggage.

The Product of the Year was the Nintendo Switch 2, which arrived just in time to qualify.

Finally, two Design Awards: Ray-Ban Meta smart glasses won the Design Award, Tech, while the Design Award, Home, went to the Smeg Soda Maker. The full list is well worth checking out.
