Later today Escape From Tarkov returns to Twitch Rivals, with 72 of the of the biggest players in the world taking part in a tournament that is all streamed on Twitch. If you tune into one of the participants’ streams or the official broadcast you can get Twitch drops, giving you special in-game items. But there are some steps to follow to make sure you are eligible to get them.

In order to get the free Twitch drops for Escape From Tarkov you will need to do a few things before the tournament starts. First off you will need to have both a copy of the game and a Twitch account, and you will need to link the two together.

How to link your Tarkov account to Twitch

You can do this by going to the Escape From Tarkov website, going to your profile page, and selecting the link Twitch account option. This will then take you through some simple steps to link your two accounts together. If you have previously linked your Tarkov account with your Twitch account you will not need to do it again for this set of drops, but it is probably worth checking that the two are still linked just to make sure.

Then once the Twitch Rivals tournaments start you just need to watch an eligible stream and you can start earning drops. It hasn’t been confirmed what the drops are, how many you can get and if you need to redeem them on Twitch before you can earn another. However, last time there were Twitch drops for Escape From Tarkov you had to claim a drop in your Twitch inventory before you could earn another.

How to unlock your Twitch Drops in Escape From Tarkov

Once claimed the drops will automatically be sent to your Escape From Tarkov game, and you can redeem them from the messages section, just like you would a reward from a trader. But you will only have seven days from earning the drop to claim it in game, so make sure you at least boot up Escape From Tarkov and move the items into your stash, otherwise, you will lose them forever.

The Twitch Rivals Escape From Tarkov tournament is due to start at 3pm ET today and will run for at least four and a half hours. The first two hours will be played on Streets of Tarkov, the next two will be on Labs, and the final match will be a single raid on Shoreline, potentially with some teases for the rework that is coming it’s way in the December patch. There’s a $50,000 prize pool for up grabs, with some of the biggest Tarkov streamers in the world getting ready to compete later today. You can see the full ruleset here.
