Hints, Clues And Answers For Wednesday, March 12

In case you missed Tuesday’s NYT Mini, you can find the answers here:

Wondering what change a Spaniard or German might request? Not sure who says the line “You know, no other factory in the world mixes its chocolate by waterfall”? Don’t worry, because I’m here to help you with some hints and the answers for today’s NYT Mini crossword.

The NYT Mini is a quick and dirty version of the newspaper’s larger and long-running crossword. Most days, there are between three and five clues in each direction on a five by five grid, but the puzzles are sometimes larger, especially on Saturdays.

Unlike its larger sibling, the NYT Mini crossword is free to play on the New York Times website or NYT Games app. However, you’ll need an NYT Games subscription to access previous puzzles in the archives.

To help you avoid getting stuck and having to reveal missing letters, here are the NYT Mini Crossword hints and answers for Wednesday, March 12.

Spoilers lie ahead, so remember to scroll slowly:

NYT Mini Crossword Hints

NYT Mini Across Hints

1 Across: Droplets typically spotted in the morning

4 Across: Major soccer tournament that takes place every four years

6 Across: A back slap, perhaps

7 Across: Hard to shake, as in a fly

8 Across: A large quantity

NYT Mini Down Hints

1 Down: Copies, for short

2 Down: Undo

3 Down: One of Gene Wilder’s most famous roles

4 Down: Particularly, for short

5 Down: Cloud’s location

NYT Mini Crossword Clues And Answers

NYT Mini Across Answers

1 Across: Drops on a putting green, say – DEW

4 Across: Change that a Spaniard or German might request? – EUROS

6 Across: Beat handily, in slang – ERASE

7 Across: Annoying, as a younger sibling – PESKY

8 Across: Blue expanse – SKY

NYT Mini Down Answers

1 Down: Pulls a fast one on – DUPES

2 Down: Clear, as a blackboard – ERASE

3 Down: Speaker of the line “You know, no other factory in the world mixes its chocolate by waterfall” – WONKA

4 Down: Paranormal gift, for short – ESP

5 Down: Blue expanse – SKY

It took me 0:58 to complete today’s NYT Mini.

This was a tougher one for me. I got nothing on the Across side until I got to SKY. I didn’t figure out DUPES right away, but I got the rest of the Down clues. EUROS and SPANK finally came to me to complete the grid.

I enjoyed this one. Maybe if I’d had more coffee, I would have deduced EUROS sooner. A question mark on the Mini is often a sign of a slightly cryptic clue, after all.

See you tomorrow for more NYT Mini fun!
