Ever Wanted To Name A World Of Warcraft Server? Here’s Your Chance

For what may be the first time in World of Warcraft’s nearly 20-year history, players have the chance to suggest server names.

The massively multiplayer RPG hosts separate servers to support players in its modern/retail, Classic, Classic Era, Hardcore and other gameplay modes.

Tom Ellis, a senior game producer on Classic, made the offer on his X (formerly known as Twitter) account. He sought suggestions for World of Warcraft Classic’s new Season of Discovery servers, which are set to launch November 30.

The suggestions, predictably, are amazing. We’ll see how long this request lasts.

Among the usual (area names within Classic zones, the names of prominent NPCs and villains, things that WoW often uses for server names) are a few gems, including:

  1. Leeroy Jenkins (see video above)
  2. Mankrik’s Wife (Finally! She has been found!)
  3. Captain Placeholder (a frequent find on WoW beta servers)
  4. Mr. Bigglesworth (Kel’thuzad’s famously evil undead cat)
  5. Elevator Boss (see: Serpentshrine Caverns)
  6. Night Elf Mohawk (Mr. T plus Warcraft is an eternally-entertaining combo)
  7. Take Candle (a callback to one of the enemy monsters who most often kills Classic Hardcore players)
  8. Zug Zug (Warcraft III’s orc grunts’ sound of agreement)
  9. Mrrgglllmrrgggl (the call of murlocs, another deadly mob for Hardcore players)
