Samsung Makes 24-Hour $190 Offer To Galaxy Z Fold 7 Buyers

After weeks of Samsung teasers that revealed key details about the foldable phone, the Galaxy Z Fold 7 has landed with a freebie and pre-order discounts.

This story was updated on July 10th with new Galaxy Z Fold 7 deal details.

The Korean company views this device as a major reset of the range, with a new design that borrows component-shrinking technology from the Galaxy S25 Edge. With that reset comes some aggressive offers and promotions, including enhanced trade-in pricing, app-exclusive discounts, and a double storage offer. Stay tuned for my more detailed breakdown of Samsung’s Fold 7 and Flip 7 deals.

One clear indicator that Samsung is treating the Fold 7 differently from its predecessors is the inclusion of two new promotions. First is a limited-time pre-order discount that bundles a free pair of Galaxy Buds3 Pro (worth £179 / $189.99) when the code “ZLIVE” is used when pre-ordering the Fold 7. The offer ends tomorrow, 10.07.25 at 23:59, and you can’t choose the color of the buds.

Secondly, Samsung U.K. has revived a version of its 2015 Test Drive promotion. The Korean company will let Fold 7 buyers try out the phone for 100 days before committing to the purchase. Unlike the Test Drive offer 10 years ago, you still have to pay full price for the device upfront. However, Samsung says that shoppers are eligible for an “easy refund” (let me know if it isn’t so “easy”) if they don’t want the handset.

Samsung Wants You To Buy The Galaxy Z Fold 7 Directly From Its Website And App

Samsung has been trying desperately to coax prospective shoppers into buying directly from its website and app with increasingly aggressive deals. The above promotions are clear examples of that. But there’s more.

Samsung runs a semi-permanent voucher code (“APP5”) when you buy tech in its Samsung Shop app, which knocks 5% off your purchase. Samsung tells me that this will work with the Fold 7 and Flip 7, too. On occasion, the company will also throw in discounts if several devices are bought together. There doesn’t appear to be any rhyme or reason to the bundle discounts because I often just add things to my basket to see what promotions they trigger.

The company’s trade-in pricing, too, is only available directly from Samsung.com. In the U.K., Samsung says it will pay up to £935 ($1270.51) for your old phone or tablet. Check my page in the coming days for a more detailed breakdown of what devices will fetch the highest values, as Samsung releases its pricing in the U.K. and U.S. In previous sales, however, the following (realistic) trade-ins have fetched the best pricing.

  • Galaxy S22 Ultra – $600
  • Galaxy Note 20 Ultra – $600
  • Galaxy Z Fold 2 – $500
  • Galaxy Z Fold 3 – $800

Stay tuned as I put together a more detailed review of Samsung’s Galaxy Fold 7 deals by hitting the follow button below.

Update July 10th: We have a clearer picture of Samsung’s Galaxy Z Fold 7 deals now that the pre-order page has gone live. On top of the “ZLIVE” code (which ends today), the company is adding a $50 credit to all purchases. If you registered your interest in the phone before it was unveiled, and paid the $50 deposit, you should have an additional $100 off the phone. Samsung says it will email people their vouchers, so check your inbox.

There’s also the double storage offer, which means buyers get the 512GB model for the price of the $256GB option, knocking $120 off the price. The big news, of course, are the enhanced trade-in prices. I will dive into this in a separate post, but the values are slightly worse than those mentioned above. The Galaxy Z Fold 3, for example, is now only worth $300 compared to $800 in a previous sale. The Galaxy S22 Ultra is down to $500 versus its previous $600 valuation. The Galaxy Note 20 Ultra, however, is still priced at $600.

Part of this is down to everything moving down a level after a new device is released. But, also, this is a brand-new phone and therefore the most expensive it will ever be. We may see better trade-in prices throughout the year as we move further away from its release date.
