Today’s ‘Wordle’ #1358 Hints, Clues And Answer For Saturday, March 8th

Looking for Friday’s Wordle hints, clues and answer? You can find them here:

Snow! Finally, finally we’ve had a real snowstorm with enough snow to get properly snowed in. I’m not sure the grand total just yet, but the white fluffy stuff came down for much of the wee hours and then all day long on Friday, leaving the world grey and white and glorious. It’s enough to make you not want to do anything that isn’t cozy. But, of course, we have a Wordle to solve before I can make a hot cup of cocoa and chill out with a good movie. Let’s solve it!

How To Solve Today’s Wordle

The Hint: Tummy

The Clue: This Wordle begins and ends with a consonant.

Okay, spoilers below!

The Answer:

Wordle Analysis

Every day I check Wordle Bot to help analyze my guessing game. You can check your Wordles with Wordle Bot right here.

GRAPE wasn’t a terrible opener today, but it wasn’t great, either. BLEAT only slashed the 126 remaining words down to 13. I wasn’t really sure what to pick at this point, but I knew I wanted the ‘A’ and ‘E’ in the second and fourth boxes and came up with LADEN. Close but no cigar, as they say. Thankfully, only one word remained: NAVEL for the win!

Competitive Wordle Score

A total wash for today since both the Bot and I guessed in four. 0 points!

My March Running Total: 10 points.

Wordle Bot’s Running Total: -3 points.

How To Play Competitive Wordle

  • Guessing in 1 is worth 3 points; guessing in 2 is worth 2 points; guessing in 3 is worth 1 point; guessing in 4 is worth 0 points; guessing in 5 is -1 points; guessing in 6 is -2 points and missing the Wordle is -3 points.
  • If you beat your opponent you get 1 point. If you tie, you get 0 points. And if you lose to your opponent, you get -1 point. Add it up to get your score. Keep a daily running score or just play for a new score each day.
  • Fridays are 2XP, meaning you double your points—positive or negative.
  • You can keep a running tally or just play day-by-day. Enjoy!

Today’s Wordle Etymology

The word navel comes from Old English nafela, which traces back to Proto-Germanic nabōlą. This, in turn, originates from Proto-Indo-European (h₃nobh-, meaning “navel” or “hub.” The word is related to the Latin umbilicus and the Greek omphalos, both of which also mean “navel.” The root reflects the concept of a central point or hub, emphasizing the navel’s role as a bodily center.
