Today’s Wordle #718 Hints, Clues And Answer For Wednesday, June 7th

Today, I must be brief with our Wordle preamble. We’re on a short camping trip for my daughter’s 16th birthday, which means I’m quite busy and in need of some good old-fashioned nature and exploration.

I think the most excited among us are the dogs, who always seem baffled why we’d choose to live in a house when we could just be out in the woods all the time. So with out further adieu . . . .

Let’s do this Wordle!

How To Solve Today’s Wordle

The Hint: These people are gonna do the thing they are, you just can’t let them get to you.

The Clue: This word begins and ends with a consonant.

The Answer:

.

.

.

Hater!

Wordle Bot Analysis

Well, crate was a very good opening guess, though I wish some of those yellow boxes had been green! Still, it left me with just 21 words to choose from. I decided to move around the letters a bit, and the juggling was decent enough. I was feeling like alter might be the answer, but instead it gave me three green boxes and left me with just 6 words to choose from.

At this point, I probably should have guessed something that would have reduced the field of available letters more, but I was in a hurry and guessed water (a crucial item on any camping trip!) which left me with five. I didn’t know I had so many words left, and luckily my next guess was the Wordle: hater!

Today’s Score: I tied with the Bot, which means zero for tying and zero for guessing in four for a grand total of 0 points. Huzzah?

Today’s Wordle Etymology

The term “hater” originated from the word “hate,” which has its roots in Old English. The Old English word “hatian” meant “to hate” or “to be hostile toward.” Over time, the term evolved and eventually gave rise to the noun “hater” to describe a person who harbors intense dislike or animosity towards someone or something.

The term gained popularity in the late 20th century and became more prevalent in the context of pop culture and social media. It is often used to label individuals who express strong negative opinions, criticism, or hostility towards a particular person, group, or idea. In this context, “hater” refers to someone who actively seeks to belittle, disparage, or undermine others.

The term “hater” has become part of colloquial language, especially in online communities and discussions, where it is often used to dismiss or invalidate someone’s negative opinions or criticisms. However, it is important to note that the term can also be used in a derogatory manner to shut down legitimate disagreements or differing viewpoints.

Play Competitive Wordle Against Me!

I’ve been playing a cutthroat game of PvP Wordle against my nemesis Wordle But. Now you should play against me! I can be your nemesis! (And your helpful Wordle guide, of course). You can also play against the Bot if you have a New York Times subscription.

  • Here are the rules:1 point for getting the Wordle in 3 guesses.
  • 2 points for getting it in 2 guesses.
  • 3 points for getting it in 1 guess.
  • 1 point for beating Erik
  • 0 points for getting it in 4 guesses.
  • -1 point for getting it in 5 guesses.
  • -2 points for getting it in 6 guesses.
  • -3 points for losing.
  • -1 point for losing to Erik

You can either keep a running tally of your score if that’s your jam or just play day-to-day if you prefer.

I’d love it if you gave me a follow on Twitter or Facebook dearest Wordlers. Have a lovely day!

As always, I’d love it if you’d follow me here on this blog and subscribe to my YouTube channel and my Substack so you can stay up-to-date on all my TV, movie and video game reviews and coverage. Thanks!
